Transfer a Domain
Move your domains to us in a few steps — your website and email keep working.
Bring your domains together in one place. A transfer changes who manages your domain — not your website or email, as long as the nameservers stay the same.
How it works
1. Get ready
Make sure the domain is unlocked at your current provider and that the registrant email address is one you can receive mail on.
2. Get the auth code
Ask your current provider for the authorisation (EPP) code, if your extension uses one.
3. Start & pay
Enter the domain and code in our cart and complete checkout. We send the request to the registry.
4. Approve
The registrant may be asked to approve by email. Most transfers complete within a few days — we keep you posted.
Transfer questions
Will my website or email go down?
No. As long as the nameservers stay the same, your website and email keep working throughout the transfer.
Why can’t I transfer a new domain?
Many extensions (such as .com) can’t be transferred within 60 days of registration or a previous transfer.
Do I lose the time left on my registration?
No — the remaining registration period stays with the domain.
Can you help me move lots of domains?
Yes. Open a ticket with the list and we’ll help you plan it. Resellers can also transfer in bulk through the API.
